Welcome to ISTRY The International Society for Tryptophan Research (ISTRY) was created in 1971 to facilitate the exchange of experiences and the collaborations among the scientists interested in the metabolism of tryptophan. Since then international meetings have been organised every 3 years with great success. As defined in the constitution, the purpose of ISTRY is to advance knowledge on the biochemistry, nutrition, pathology, physiology, food science, regulation of tryptophan metabolism, and chemistry of tryptophan, and to bring together those scholars interested in these objectives through a common society. Triennal meetings have been held since then in Europe, Japan and the US and the next ISTRY meeting will be held for the first time in Australia in 2012.
