ISTRY exists because of the unique position of Tryptophan (Trp) among all amino acids. As the precursor of many physiologically active and important metabolites, ISTRY attracts a wide range of disciplines among its membership, ranging from organic and analytical chemists, through biochemists, molecular biologists, neurochemists, other neuroscientists and nutritionists, to immunologists, oncologists, pharmacologists, psychiatrists, psychologists and other behavioural scientists. ISTRY holds at least one triennial Meeting and a smaller one in between. Membership is open to anyone with an active interest in any aspect of Trp research.
There are three membership categories:
• Associate membership: Graduates with up to 3 years postdoctoral experience (50 Euros/3 years)
• Ordinary membership: More senior and established researchers: (150 Euros/3 years)
• Corporate membership: (400 Euros/3 years)
If you would like to join ISTRY, please write to the current Secretary Dr Gilles Guillemin (g.guillemin@unsw.edu.au) enclosing a brief CV (5 pages maximum) including references to your Trp-related research.
We look forward to welcoming you as a new ISTRY member!
